For more than twenty years, the Gipuzkoan dancer Iratxe Ansa danced for some of the most important European companies. Basel Ballet, the defunct Gulbenkian Ballet, in Lisbon, the National Dance Company, in the times of Nacho Duato, the Lyon Opera Ballet and the Dutch Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT) trace the line of his career.


When she left the NDT in 2009, she was leaving behind a brilliant career as a dancer, which had begun when she graduated from the John Cranko Schule Stuttgart, and had developed into these prominent European collectives dancing for 20th century legends such as William Forsythe, Jiri Kylián , Nacho Duato, Mats Ek, Ohad Naharin, Wayne McGregor or Crystal Pite, to name a few. But it was far from ending.


She then began a new stage as a freelance around the world, which led her to work with dancers from different cultures, trends and nationalities. He kept dancing and creating, more and more, focusing on developing his own methodology. In this way, she was delving into her concerns about physicality and musicality, two very important principles in her way of understanding dance, which have consolidated her as a researcher of the body.


In 2020 she was recognized with the National Dance Award of Spain. His collaboration with Igor Bacovich began in 2013.
